Monday, April 20

Happy Monday! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather today. In case you missed it, here is the read aloud from today. Parents, if you would like to read a story after me some Monday, let me know! I'd love to have a guest reader with kids sharing their great books. Sending much love out to you all.

Monday, April 13

Hi guys! Still missing you :) If you weren't able to join us for the read aloud today, I recorded the story. It's a special one because both the author and illustrator are family friends! Enjoy!

Monday, March 30

It was so fun seeing those of you who were able to join for our Zoom Read Aloud today! Please send me an email if you had any trouble accessing it so that I can be sure to get you all set up to join us next time. In the meantime, I recorded a read aloud. If you missed the first few minutes of the story, or weren't able to join us. You can listen and watch below!

Thursday, March 19

I'm sure you saw the ARPS update from Principal Salmeron that the school closure will be extended through April 17th. We will be working as a team to determine what our longer-term online learning solution looks like. Stay tuned! We managed to record another video this morning, a great story about feelings. I don't know about you, but I sure have had a lot of feelings the past few weeks!

Wednesday, March 18

A big thanks to those of you who made the time for parent-teacher phone conferences last night. So great to hear so many of your voices. I look forward to continuing with more tomorrow. No read aloud today (but I'm shooting for one tomorrow). In the meantime, you can check out this free mindfullness resource from Calm

Tuesday, March 17

Happy St. Patrick's day! We are all wearing green today. Nelson had green eggs, green pancakes, and green milk for breakfast. I had coffee... I'll be sending out some extra festive work today so be sure to check your email. I look forward to speaking with many of you at conferences this evening.

Monday, March  16

I sure am missing your smiling faces this morning! I hope you are spending your extra time at home playing with your pets, giving extra hugs to your mom and dad, reading, practicing math, and getting some good exercise and playtime outside. I'm trying to do the same! I just got back from a run with our dog, Frank, and decided to record a video of me reading a story with Nelson! He's a busy little guy, so you'll notice I get a little distracted. But hey, it's the thought that counts, and I'm thinking about you today!

P.S. Parents, if you are looking for a way to stay active and healthy, this yoga app was recently recommended to me and is free until April 1st.

Friday, March 13

Happy Friday! Thank you all for being supportive and flexible as ARPS works to support our students, our families, and our communities. I know our admin is working hard to keep families updated via our school's webiste. I'll be updating a new classroom website as well.

What does online learning look like for kindergarten? Please plan to spend 30 min on reading and 30 min on math each day that we would have been in school. Check out the resources page for a downloadable workbook with daily lessons as well as links to online resources like IXL. The goal is for you to have resources to help continue your child's learning during this time, not to feel overwhelmed.

I will be posting a quick daily hello/update and checking my email twice daily through March 19th. Please feel free to reach out if you need login information or have other questions.

I miss you all and am excited to see you when we get back from Spring break on March 30th!

Virtual hugs and elbow high fives,

Mrs. Sinichko
